Artist's Comments

Another polaroid test from the shoot I did on Wednesday. Weather was simply beautiful..I find this gaze of wistful content dreaminess is one that comes to light oft when one is in CI. So restful listening to the water and not being bothered by anyone or anything.
I just got the final print back [4x5 fuji 64T negative], and the sky looks simply breathtaking, skin tones are superb..great film and well worth the trip. However, the inherent imperfections on a polaroid print still appeal to me.

Comments welcome.

Please write back soon and let me know if you want to marry me.

PS. I am very handsome and live in a mansion with a pony.

Yeah for me its still touch and go, the best results i have had come from a variety of methods, from dragging the shutter whilst in motion, dragging while the subject is in motion, intentionally throwing off the focus - keep testing [expensive i know] but once you get what you want, its a great feeling..and all the mistakes of the past blur into nothingness.

I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
Puzzle pieces from the clay....

Lovely picture :) I enjoy the light on the neck. I just regret the people on the next bench that break a little the perspective.
All in all this photo is very soothing

Imperfections are where its at, baby  I seem to agree completely with your description of the wistfulness. If I could have anything, and it maybe coming with the 4x5s, it would be a tighter compostional crop on the left espcially, really pushing our attention to that side and trying to work out the emotional content before sweeping across that gorgeous blurred vista. I love it as much for what is left unsaid, than is actually shown. It really allows that projection onto the image.

Really looking forward to the prints :D

Interestingly, the final print has no bag next to the girl nor anyone sitting on the bench in the background!

Do you know those songs that you hear where something about the composition of the song is just so breezy? You can almost feel the soft whisper of the wind and see the cloudless blue sky above you, (no matter what weather you're in at the time)?
This photo has the same quality.

Very beautiful and dreamy image.

I really like that your model is looking away from camera.
Too bad there aren't any clouds in the sky.

Love it.
